“Every artist will tell you of the artworks that they want to hang onto; pieces that mean something to them, which they are reluctant to part with. I am no exception, or rather, should I say, Eileen and I, are no exception. Our dining-room walls are covered in paintings that represent collections that have come off my easel over the years and we politely let interested collectors know that these are ‘Eileen’s private collection’.” "A number of these ‘reserved’ pieces are also

"It is in my very soul to create works of art, I have a passion for doing so, which has been my life’s work. In my early, formative years, works were placed in galleries - now my original Masterworks paintings are only available privately, directly from our studio – so it is with my latest collection of on-the-spot paintings at Music Sessions & Events – the subject of Blog Post #1, linked to this post." Greetings from our studio – where Autumn has set in and we are to be found working away, warmed by the radiating heat of our log-burning stove. One of our daily rituals is to discuss the day’s news over breakfast and oh-so-happily, earlier this week, the sole topic of conversation was a heart-warming story – one with which we agree wholeheartedly, one that we know will strike a chord with everyone who shares our passion for art. Greetings from our studio, here in the Highlands of Scotland, from where we send you our warmest salutations and hope that all is well with you in spirit and in health. Even though our heart and souls are committed to creativity, the very essence of our lives, which finds us most days working away in our beloved Steading studio – the ‘art and soul’ of our various projects is rooted in finding subjects and people that inspire us. Eileen and I do so appreciate just how truly fortunate we are to live in a part of the world that attracts visitors from across the globe and to have free and easy access to our surroundings throughout the year. Some people are of the opinion that the Highlands of Scotland are wet and dreary, bugged by midgies – but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Here, there are vast skies looking down on multitude vistas of mixed landscape. There are mountains and glens, gorges and

Life certainly ‘twists’ and ‘turns’ and we have had our fair this past year share; but yet, these have been as nothing, when compared to others. This time last year, we were waiting to get back into our Steading studio, having taken over our dining-room, as a temporary studi

“Work continues on all three fronts in our studio (artworkshopwithpaul Tutorials, Elphen Chronicles and Fine-Art) as we attempt to make up for time lost to replacing our website; so, as you can imagine, we’re thrilled to be getting back ‘in the groove’ of our creative cycle-of-life and delight in the fact that we continue to make additions to the Originals Gallery and the Limited-Edition Gallery in my Fine Art Section. "Greetings from our creative sanctuary in the Highlands of Scotland, from where we send our sincere hope that life is treating you kindly and extend our warmest wishes. In our May e-newsletter we wrote of the arrival of our annual visitors – who have provided us with much enjoyment over the past few months. The Wren did indeed vacate the nest, previously built by the Swallows in a recess deep within the gable-end of our stone-built studio – just in the nick of time and much t
