For everyone who has been carried along by the sheer brilliance of Sally Wainwright's 'Happy Valley' finale and the stunning performance put in by the one-and-only Sarah Lancashire - we simply had to share another once-in-a-lifetime performance by Sarah Lancashire as featured in Paul's painting of 'Peter Pan' in which Sarah Lancashire took the part of Mrs Darling - spot her here in this photographic montage from our wonderful time spent chronicling the many happenings all those decades ago, at Oldham Theatre Workshop, Harrison Street, The David Johnson Era - an oil painting montage, one of many paintings and drawings depicting the rehearsals and dress-rehearsals of Peter Pan. A stunning performance that we will never forget and for which we thank each and every member of the workshop who pulled out all the stops to make it such a memorable result.
On the left we show the poster, produced from two of Paul's artworks - a lino-cut print of Peter Pan flying over the water, with the OTW motif reproduced from a conte-pencil drawing.
A second photographic montage - this is a Limited-Edition Print that we publish from an original Masterworks oil painting (which is not for sale - being in our private collection) - it shows one of the stage hands taking a much-needed break backstage, during the dress-rehearsals.
And a third photographic montage – showing a drawing and a mixed-media rendition of the same subject.
We had planned to spend a year following Oldham Theatre Workshop, with a small collection of artworks depicting their activities and productions – instead we spent many more years chronicling their work and performance in oils, watercolours, drawing, mixed-media, with an extensive collection attracting much interest from collectors.
