No matter our age, no matter our circumstances, there are few amongst us who are not touched by a sprinkling of wonderment, enchantment and magic. For it is these things that can lift our spirits, bring us pleasure and joy. Who amongst us is not familiar with folklore, folk tales and fairy stories; after all, every culture across the globe have these in common, shared across generations, from elders to youngsters and forward to the next.
Every time Eileen and I work on the Elphen Chronicles, we are transported to another world, one that brings us unadulterated delight. Although the work itself is intense and all-consuming, the complexities of everyday life seem to vanish as we lose ourselves in another time and place.
Our work has always brought us joy, the creative nature of it lifts our spirits and none more so than when we are joined in our various projects by like-minded, creative talents. So it is with the Elphen Chronicles, which we do hope comes across to anyone watching our Video-StoryBooks and the many biographical and behind-the-scenes videos that chart this ever-expanding, collaborative, undertaking.
Childhood memories, the thrill of unexplained and mysterious moments, my passion for the wonderment of painting and how it can release the inner, imaginative, self. These lie at the very heart of the Elphen Chronicles stories and tales.
