Greetings from our studio – where Autumn has set in and we are to be found working away, warmed by the radiating heat of our log-burning stove. One of our daily rituals is to discuss the day’s news over breakfast and oh-so-happily, earlier this week, the sole topic of conversation was a heart-warming story – one with which we agree wholeheartedly, one that we know will strike a chord with everyone who shares our passion for art.
At long last, a properly conducted academic study has established that not only does creating art provide well-being benefits for the mind and body - the “physiological impact of viewing original artworks” has a profound affect on the viewer’s well-being - as concluded by the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, Department of Psychological Medicine, King’s College London, UK and reported in the article on the Art Fund site – https://www.artfund.org
So, we say to fellow artists, next time you complete and assess your artwork, don’t simply think of how you feel about it, share it with others – and in that way you are not the only person to benefit from your creativity. For as well as the sense of achievement you will feel, there is always the sheer enjoyment of knowing that your artwork will have stimulated a physiological reaction for the viewer – adding to your well-being, as well as theirs.
Thank you for reading our latest news and for your continued interest in our work; for It is your support that motivates us to keep creating and producing art tutorials and working on our various projects and for that we are indebted to you.
As ever, this comes with best wishes, from Eileen and myself. Stay safe and keep well, in spirit and in health.
