We bring you New Year Greetings from our studio in the Highlands of Scotland where, in common with many across the Northern Hemisphere, we look out over our snow-draped garden. Although we are some two weeks past mid-winter and the afternoons are getting lighter, we nevertheless start to feel a hot-chocolate or milky-coffee is in order once the light starts to fade around three-thirty in the afternoon – which is when I take a break from my easel, walk from our Steading studio to the cottage and prepare whatever heart-warming drink we have a hankering for that day. Then it’s back to our Steading studio, where we sit together on our couch enjoying the heart-warming drink and discuss what Eileen and I are doing at our respective desks and easel – ever-mindful and appreciative of the fact that our creative work brings joy to our lives, each and every day.
Who knows what 2026 will bring, but as long as we can all continue to enjoy art and creativity, in all its forms, we can lift our heads and our spirits, to make the most of it. Whether as a collector or viewer of art, a reader of books and stories, a listener to music, an audience member of theatre; or as a creator in any or all of those forms, art is a unifier, it brings together people from all walks of life, it adds to the cultural heritage of all countries in this world.

Thank you for watching our New Year message, for reading this e-newsletter and for your continued support and interest in our work. The past decade has seen us working intensely on various projects which we will be revealing over the coming months.
