TRAVEL

It is very easy to reach the Northern Highlands of Scotland, whether by air, rail or road.

From the capital of the Highlands, Inverness, you can pick up a hire car, local coach service or local train to get you to Tain or Brora

AIR TRAVEL

Inverness Airport is the air gateway for the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and handles more than 330 scheduled flights a week to Scottish and UK destinations.  Scheduled flights operate between Inverness and London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Stornoway and Benbecula in the Western Isles, Kirkwall in Orkney and Sumburgh in Shetland.

RAIL TRAVEL

Scotrail operate the North Highland Line from Inverness to Wick/Thurso (via Tain and Brora). Journeys to Inverness are supported by the UK network and booking system.

COACH TRAVEL

Citylink offer regular services from Inverness to the North Highlands. Coach companies such as National Express offer travel to Inverness.

FERRY TRAVEL

In addition to the comprehensive ferry services the Superfast Ferry link from Zeebrugge to Rosyth brings travellers to within a few hours drive of Inverness.

CAR HIRE

Car hire is extensively available in Inverness and the airport.

Her traditional Scottish breakfast makes a really good start to your day, with delicious evening meals available - all traditional cooking of the highest quality and standard. In the former coach-house c1790, Cabinetmaker and Restorer, Stuart Clifford works on high quality furniture evident in the unique handcrafted pieces that can be seen at every turn in Wemyss House.

Prue and John, are keen fishermen, gardeners and beekeepers, with much of their delicious food being produced or caught by themselves. This recently renovated comfortable house has one double room with twin beds plus en-suite bathroom for visitors and another with adjacent bathroom.

A delightful house, 15th century at the back, 19th at the front, surrounded by beautiful gardens and lawns that tumble towards the loch. The interior is equally impressive, with the original tiled floor in the hall, open fires in the drawing rooms and Nina Campbell fabric on the dinning room wall. Loch Eye has been redecorated with flair, bringing a bright and breezy country-house elegance to the home. One of the bedrooms comes in lilacs and purples and one of the bathrooms has loch views providing the opportunity to spot rare bird life while you soak. The views are all you'd hope for.
